Benn's birthday was last week. After solid weeks of me trying to convince him that he should get to pick his own birthday activities on his birthday, rather than just sit around the house like we always do, Benn finally chose to go to a BC Lions (that's football, apparently) game and then walk across the street to try the Atlantic Trap and Grill. 17. Apple Blossom Weekend

I have never cared a bit about the Apple Blossom Parade. After Carnival in the Caribbean, it's hard to get worked up over a small town parade. 16. Paddy's Pub
Paddy's, in Wolfville, makes the most amazing nachos, and it's just such an awesome atmosphere for a few light drinks with friends. It became my go-to place to meet up with Suman, Jasmine and Maeghan and sometimes Richard, so we could catch up on each other's lives. Everyone loves Paddy's. 14. The Playground of Death

12. The Waving Man

You know the guy I'm talking about. As you're driving into the valley on the 101? He always stands at that overpass and waves as you go by. He seemed like the self-appointed, developmentally delayed emissary of the Land of Evangeline. I always tried to wave back. Hello, waving man!

11. Blomidon

There's something about hitting Windsor as you go along the 101, and seeing Blomidon as you come down the hill, that says "you're home" to me. So beautiful.

10. Ducky's.

I always loved Ducky's. It's just the kind of pub I like. I'm not a George's Roadhouse kind of girl, with all the loud music and the dancing and people hitting on other people. Benn and I have been approved for a mortgage! They approved us for $250,000 bucks but really, we don't want anything over $220,000. We need to scrape together a 5% down payment, and that'll be tough enough at $220,000. As it is, we're going to have to sell all of our stocks/RRSPs (which are worth a lot less now than a year ago).
